We finally got a bishopric!!
« on: June 13, 2021, 09:19:26 pm »
Good news: my ward finally got a new bishopric in place! Better news: it is not Hick! (Hick doesn't  have to shave his face and can still wear jeans to church and I don't have to have a perfectly clean house and can still doze off in services  ;D )

The new bishop had moved in last year and is very well known in the ward, the second councilor is the same man who was the second councilor before but the new first councilor has the story.

It seems that the bishop was called some time ago, but was not set apart until he could decide on his councilors (this is SOP) He was inspired to have Brother P called again as the second councilor, but was not told who was to be the first councilor (according to his testimony today).  A couple of weeks ago the EQ put out the word that a new family was moving into the ward and needed help unloading a truck. Newley called, but not set apart or known by the ward, Bishop was there to help. He had a great time unloading the truck (can you really have a great time unloading a truck of household goods?) and was inspired to call Brother D to the office of the first councilor. Phone calls to the Stake were made, prayers said and the offer of the calling given. (I am not sure as to the actual scheme of things, but this comes close.)

It seems that this man was inspired to move with his job to the Albuquerque metro area. He rented a house  there and after a while moved to Rio Rancho ( a little to the north west of Abq). Apparently they felt it was good to live there (great neighborhood and schools etc, no reason not to stay there), but the Lord said otherwise, so they found a place in Los Lunas (south of Abq) and the rest is history.

So all is well  in Zion, not that it was bad mind you, just odd.  We simply dealt with everything and everyone via ministering and the chain of command, while Bishop H  was taking care of the sheep he still needed to via long distance until all could be settled.

It never ceases to amaze me as to how the Lord takes care of us.
