Oh, I also have nearly 20 pounds of cornmeal. Why I bought so much is beyond me, but added to liquid hand soap it makes getting mechanics hands way cleaner. I also add it to hair conditioner and exfoliate my calloused-dry feet, adding drops of water as it starts to dry out, then rinse thoroughly. Soft feet and hands.

Oh, brilliant.

I’m making a T-shirt quilt for CrowSon.  I’ve had Girlies involved peripherally—suggestions for layout, colors, etc.

@LMAshton, do you have a recipe and/or technique for naan that is passable without having anything like a tandoori?

Technique - I dry fry them on the stove in a non-stick flat frying pan. I've tried baking them in the oven, but didn't like the texture. You can fry them in some oil, but that will, of course, change the texture. Try both ways and see what you prefer.

I generally roll them to about 1/4 to 1/3 of an inch thick. Any thicker and they won't cook properly. If you roll them thinner, they'll turn out more like a tortilla or a pita bread - which is fine if that's what you're going for. But whether you get a naan or a tortilla or pita bread is more down to how thick or thin you roll it than the recipe itself.

Recipe - I'll see if I can dig mine up - I haven't made it recently. Generally, I make a bread dough using yoghurt instead of water/milk, and that makes it nice and soft. I also make a higher hydration dough - but I also prefer higher hydration doughs than most home bakers use. I despise tough and chewy, which is easy to get when the dough has a lower hydration and when the dough hasn't been proved properly.

Laurie--the video is actually much better and explains WAY better, but i think you have to have a cable subscription to see it. I've noticed this with the recipes from his shows--the annoying transcribers cut out or slightly alter a lot of the important stuff.

I got my nieces of 10 and 13 years old a puzzle of 500 pieces. I think it is the first large scale puzzle they have attempted. My wife and I put the puzzle together prior to giving it to them, flipped it over, and wrote a message on the back, to give them added incentive to finish it.

I got my 5 year old several 24 piece Lion King puzzles. This is the right level introduction to puzzles for her. The outside temperatures are getting into the 60s now that it is spring, so our kids can run around outside.

For me, I am still working long days (which I should be glad to have a job). Most of the elective surgeries have been cancelled. Many of my co-workers are taking time off. Which means I have to pick up the slack for the things that cannot wait (can you just hold that baby in for 2 more weeks, please?), and I have been working longer hours every day now. I have had a few possible Corona virus patients who have had to have procedures where I had to wear a hood with a mechanical filtered air inflow. Gathering all of that equipment really slows things down.
