Just finished our annual viewing of "Darby O'Gill and the Little People."  What a fun, lighthearted movie.  I'm getting tired of all these "gritty" movies that take themselves waaaay to seriously.  Some old school Disney fun really hit the spot.

We watched Frozen II. I smiled at the part where Elsa is walking past her ice memories of the "Let It Go" scene and rolls her eyes.

CrowMan, CrowDaughter and I watched The Two Popes tonight.  Excellent.  The casting was perfection.  As non-Catholics, we learned a bit about some of those traditions.  As someone who knew a little bit about these men, I learned more.  I understood where they were coming from, and what has cast them.  The Argentine accent was real.  The cinematography was very good.  I squealed at the scenes in the Sistine Chapel; a place I was lucky enough to visit once and would dearly love to go again (but not in the summer).  The music, hmmm.  Not what you would expect in this film.  There were some political scenes that felt heavy-handed, like the director was trying to make a point, that did not add to the film, but they were short moments that I could overlook.  I seem to recall both men were nominated for Oscars; very deserving.  I highly recommend.

The last scene, of Benedict and Francis watching the 2014 World Cup; excellent! ;D

Did it need to have English subtitles all the way through? We started watching it and really enjoyed what we watched, but sometimes I need/want shows where I can mostly listen and don't have to watch the screen. This one seemed like I would need to watch it nearly the entire time and would be good for another time.

Each day, the Met is streaming a different opera. This is already a couple of weeks ago & has one week to go, but if the shelter-in-place orders remain in effect in many places, maybe the Met will extend it.

Started watching The Letter For The King on Netflix. It's a gorgeously shot fantasy epic with teenage leads. It is intense, but it stays firm in the court of its PG depictions. Been watching it with the family, including a 6-year-old boy and a 10-year-old girl. All of us are fully engaged. Only 2 episodes in of the 6 made for the season, and I would highly recommend it!

Not all the way through, but quite a lot.  I should have mentioned that, but I guess I watch enough stuff with subtitles, I just take it for granted.  Sorry! :-[

Taalcon, thanks for that recommendation.  CrowMan and I wondered.

It is the first time she has sung. Interesting how that went - who she sang to and how it was different than when others sing to her.  (I don't want to spoil things).

Thank you. I often clean the house or crochet when "watching." I actually would have loved to keep watching it the other day, but my daughter wasn't feeling well and asked we watch something else.

I ran into a series called Reign on Netflix the other day.  I likebit well enough. But the reimagined costumes on most women  are not period and are distracting.  But intrigue. Medici mother. Court shenanigans.  Political mayhem. Its about Mary Queen of Scots

Oh Joy!  Netflix has Community!  We have the first three seasons, but never bothered to get the other three.  Woo-hoo!

I love how the writers of "Community" developed each of the characters. Shirley is my favorite. I love how she says, "Britta."
