Webcomics.  There are hundreds out there.  Most of them aren't particularly good.  I do recommend "All Night Laundry" though.  It reads more like a screenplay with illustrations than an comic.  The author/artist incorporates comments from the reader into the story, so it sometimes takes some interesting twists along the journey.  It started our as a sci-fi horror story, but eventually became more aligned with the sci-fi adventure genre.  Check it out.

I just finished watching The Chosen, by VidAngel.  Beautiful.  https://www.vidangel.com/browse

Is that the 1980s film adaptation of Chaim Potok's novel?  I remember watching that for American History class back in high school.  I remember having a really interesting class discussion about it.

When I first heard the title, that’s what I thought it was. No, this is the story of one of the shepherds in the field That Day.  VidAngel is actually going to make a series of the life of Christ, through the eyes of those that met and knew Him. This is the pilot. It’s just short of 25 minutes long.

Longmire. Why?  Everything was cool about the last episode.  Except for Vic and Walt's May/December relationship.  Ick.  Yes, I know the tension from the whole last season was building up to it (with a sledgehammer's lack of subtlety--I mean, how many more ways could Vic be anguished about losing Walt), but come on.  For all his virtuous integrity about doing the right thing despite the consequences, he had an affair with a subordinate employee. That's unethical. I suppose the fact that he retired afterwards was supposed to make it okay  ::). And the romantic dialogue between Vic and Walt--who wrote that?  A sixth grader? "Every man knows how many scars he has." *Snort.* Apparently, a relationship between two mature people, (like he was developing with Donna) wasn't "spicy" enough. There had to be a juvenile fantasy involving a subordinate employee young enough to be his daughter.  Again, ick. What a disappointing ending to a series that was really excellent in so many ways.

"A Quiet Place." The best scary movie I've seen in a long time.  No sex or nudity.  No foul language.  A good story and really good acting.  Definitely worth seeing.

I was at the edge of my seat throughout the movie.  Suspenseful doesn't even come close to describing it.  I've always liked Krasinski as an actor, and I've always loved Emily Blunt's work.  I can't imagine how they shed their characters at the end of a day of shooting to go home as a married couple.  I did not know Millicent Simmonds was deaf until after I had seen the movie.  I would watch it again, even though I know how it will end.

Solo: A Star Wars Story.  Okay. It wasn't a heroic cheer-at-the-end movie.  But, I really liked it.  I don't agree with all the negative hullabaloo from critics and fans. I thought it gave some interesting back story and depth to Han, Chewy, and Lando. I really like how Han ended up helping the beginning of the rebellion in a huge way, even though he didn't know the full consequences of his decisions.  That fit his character--a "scoundrel" with a good heart.

I’m going to renew this topic, because CrowMan has me hooked on Endeavour, the prequel to the Inspector Morse series.  I never watched the latter (it’s no longer streaming on Netflix, but I noticed it on Britbox; hmmmm) but he loved them.  Endeavour is fantastic writing.  The locales are lovely.  Sometimes we have to turn on the captioning to read it because the accents can be out of tune to our American ears.  The characters are well-drawn out; you can feel for them.  Set in the 1960s, you still get a feel of the class system in many of the characters that is foreign to this Yank.  The score, lovely; I find myself humming the music for the end credits.  I look forward to every disc that arrives.  Every season/series is short—four episodes usually.   IMDB says the series is expected to continue through at least 2021.

CG: Agreed!  I never much cared for Inspector Morse, but I LOVE Endeavour.

My wife and I regularly watch SEAL Team, Curse of Oak Island and Alone.  We've started watching Mountain Men.  My wife watches a lot more t.v. then I do.  I watch soccer (Premier League) and have started watching the Jazz (NBA) again after decades away.  I watch Utah football too.  I go in phases watching movies.

We just finished watching the Crown. The kids taught us how to access their Netflix.

I am watching Designated Survivor.  My goodness. Keifer Sutherland. What a surprise.

I avoid most television because ugh.

The last show I enjoyed was Downton Abbey.

Wife and I decided to fill a pop-culture gap and (having gotten miffed that Frasier was taken off Netflix right as we had begun a rewatch) go ahead and check out  Cheers on Netflix. The 80s sitcom, not the new Cheerleading Documentary.

It's funny, it's groanworthy/painful, Sam and Diane are both collectively The Worst, etc. It's most amusing seeing so many familiar faces at a time in their life when they were so very young.

And yet we're on Season 4 and still going, so

Endeavour is great, but my problem with it is that Morse casts a shadow over it. We know how he turns out in the end, which is all quite bleak. There isn't going to be a happy ever after for poor old Endeavour Morse, because John Thaw's Morse was a miserable old grouch unable to find love or build a real relationship with anyone. That said, I love the series and particularly the fact that there is a story arc going on, unlike the Morse stories

I enjoyed the first season of Designated Survivor, but something (I can't remember what) in the subsequent seasons turned me off to it and I stopped watching.
