A New Calling
« on: January 06, 2019, 06:19:37 pm »
I was released from being Young Men's President.
I was called to the funnest position in the whole church:  Primary Music Leader!  Woo Hoo!  I've had this calling before.  It's was several years ago, and I've missed being in Primary. The new schedule really requires a well-planned and focused music time.  I only have 20 minutes (twice.) Today was spiritual and fun together.  Man, I love Primary.

As a Primary president I love it when priesthood get called into Primary. I think it is really important for the boys to see men honoring their priesthood and serving where asked.

My first calling was pianist and director combined - I was 12, just out of Primary.

I have done it a few times since, and I love it too. Have fun.
Don't ask me, I only live here.

Yay for Primary! I'm a nursery leader and I absolutely love it! I've served so much in RS and YW, that it was so refreshing to be called into Primary. Congrats, Brother Roper!

Congratulations, Roper! My wife was recently called as Primary President and has been pushing for more strong priesthood holders in Primary. We also have a male music leader. She includes him in presidency meetings because his expertise and input are so vital to a successful program.

As a Primary president I love it when priesthood get called into Primary. I think it is really important for the boys to see men honoring their priesthood and serving where asked.

It's also important for the girls to see good priesthood holders. Too many young kids (male & female) don't have good men in their families or their immediate circle, & too many have male adults around who are poor influences. Sadly, the result is often that boys have no one to help guide them to become good men, & girls approach young women age with no basis for recognizing good men.

Best wishes to Roper & the kids! :)
