I have joyful news to report
« on: November 25, 2018, 01:52:35 pm »
On Friday evening, November 23, I was sealed to my parents in the South Carolina Columbia Temple.  Isn't it mind-boggling how an earthly experience that took less than ten minutes has eternal implications?  I'm still walking on air.

That is great. Yeah, it is mind-boggling. On 9 June 2001, I was sealed to my parents at the Seattle, WA Temple.
I think it took longer to be sealed to my husband. We were married civilly - then sealed 21 months later. Our priesthood witness was Husbands mentor and our Stake Patriarch. I could easily see him by looking over my husband's shoulder - he had tears in his eyes during the entire thing. I had never felt such peace and a rightness in my mortal world as I did that day.

Indeed it is! Having had that experience as an adult, I always enjoy hearing when other people can take that step in uniting all their family's generations.    :)

ETA: Although I initially copied this link to post on the "All Flesh is Grass" thread for the Pres. Bush conversation, it certainly also belongs here. One the most primal wishes humans seem to have regardless of religion, culture, ethnicity, place of origin, etc., is a connection to their ancestors & the hope that in whatever state of being they believe comes after this life, they will see their loved ones again.
