For now, I believe this policy only applies to the U.S. and Canada.

When I taught early morning seminary several years ago, another adult male was required to be there.  Usually, the dads of the students rotated days. There was a member of the bishopric on standby.  He would come over if nobody else showed up. I'm not sure if the same requirement was in place for female early morning seminary teachers.

I think that these guidelines will be modified to fit the needs of the branches and wards, as different areas and countries
in this world wide church have different needs.

I would hope they keep the ward mission leader and committed. The purposes overlap in the ministry. Still, it is impirtant to enable more to participate and not overload the few leaders. For example, after the dissolution of the ward activity committee, it just ended up with ward council members adding activity planning duties vs sharing the opportunities to help.

Agreed, Nita. The current members of the ward council already have more than enough responsibilities. I think we need male and female ward mission leaders to coordinate with the male and female missionaries and with the EQ and RS.

So, it turns out I was mostly correct.

The Ward Mission Leader's responsibility are now devolved to the EQP. He may then assign them to a counsellor. If required a WML may be called, but he reports to the counsellor responsible. He only attend Ward Council if it is relevant that he does.

This was not a rumor I heard, it was simply something that seemed a natural evolution - especially since the same was, and has been restated as, true for Temple and Family History.

Don't ask me, I only live here.
