My niece and her cat.
« on: March 13, 2018, 11:09:19 pm »
If you don't like cats, this post is not for you.

My niece suffered with lupus for years.  One of her few joys was her cat Ebony.  My niece was truly giving, helping my daughter with her four rambunctious boys after my wife passed away.  No one else was able to do this.  I had to work, and no one else was available.

The cat is seventeen years old, and still healthy.  She likes to run and play from time to time.

After my niece passed away, my daughter took the cat in.  It wasn't so easy, because she too has a cat, and the two cats just don't get along.  My daugher has lived in a large house, though, so the two cats were able to give each other some space.

My daughter needs to move with her boys into an apartment, and it's not going to work out to take both cats to the apartment.  My wife and I live in a small house with yet another very territorial cat.

There are too many cats in the environment, and putting them to sleep may sometimes be a necessity.  But it seems to be a real shame to do this to a beloved pet.

So if anyone is able to take in another cat, let me know.  If necessary, I will supply food and litter for her.  If possible, we would like to visit her from time to time.

It's sad when people have to part with pets they love, & also when pets have to part with people they love, which have both happened in this cat's life. I'm sorry to hear about the challenges getting this "senior" critter settled into a good home. I love animals but have enough of an allergy issue that it wouldn't work to live with one. And if I did adopt your cat, I think we live far enough apart that you wouldn't be able to see her very often except in pictures.

I hope you find the right home for her to be comfortable the rest of her life.
