Whose life isn't changing?
« on: November 21, 2017, 02:03:57 am »
This last week brought the official addition of two more kids to our family.  We adopted the sisters I have mentioned elsewhere.  Each of our adoptions have been a different experience.  Our first was a baby who now only remembers the experience from pictures.  The second was an eight year old who had experienced things a child shouldn't and had already been through a couple of foster homes.  While she was happy to be adopted, it is hard to be joyous having been through so much.  These two sisters are 5 and 4.  The excitement and joy when they found out the adoption was going to happen was fun.  The 5 year-old was almost bouncing off the walls, being so excited.  I had never been hugged and kissed so much in a day.

I think I met your daughters when we gathered at your house, yes?   Watching your family grow and prosper is so satisfying.  I know I only see the highlights, but You and Amy are such an example to me. The world is a better place because of you both. Congratulations again!

So happy for you, Curlybat. Good parents are so very important. I'm glad you're taking up the challenge for more children. :)

Yes, I believe everyone that came met them briefly before their bed time.  They've been with us since December 6, 2015.  Now we boys are outnumbered 3 to 6.  It definitely isn't always easy, especially with our older adopted one who struggles with trying to fit in with the wrong crowd but then, many face those challenges with their biological children.
