Yahoo accounts hacked
« on: October 04, 2017, 03:24:25 am »
Do you Yahoo? If so, you are one of the 3 billion accounts (every one of its accounts) that was hacked. Good luck. :(

Some people have more than one account, so it isn't 3 billion actual individuals, but still, that's a huge number. Isn't the world's population a little over 6 billion?

Back in 2004 when I first met Hubby #2, he had a yahoo account. Thus when we married, he wanted me to get one also. Some of my friends had hotmail & yahoo email accounts - and they were constantly getting graphic porno emails.

Hubby assured me, that they must have been surfing in the nasty waters of the web for that to have happened. Okay - he is the nerdiest guru I had ever met, so I went with a yahoo email account. Not three months later, I am receiving graphic porno emails. So is he.

I quit the yahoo account, and went with an email account through out internet server - - then purchase one from GoDaddy.

Moving back to Oregon in 2010 GoDaddy priced themselves out of our 5 email account and we both went with gmail.

My friends have pretty much switched to gmail. Of those that switched, not one has received any nasty emails or even spam. Oh, yeah - the switchers are using Microsoft Office Outlook as their email program. Through that they can bounce the spam email. Send it to Junk and mark the box to block it.

For reasons known only to Hubby, he still has one yahoo email account. It receives more spam and graphic porno still. I think he get a charge out of hitting Delete w/out opening the emails.  ::)

I only know two people who still have hotmail email accounts. Their excuse for not changing to either their internet serviers email or gmail is: But everyone already has our email address. (roll eyes, double face palm) - changing out your email address in my email program is t h e    e a s i e s t   to do.

Oh, Hubby has 3 computers, one of which is his Kindle Fire. He has his email set up on all of them. The Kindle Fire is the only one that doesn't have anything yahoo.

Oh, Hubby's son used to work for the guberment in their cyber spying division. They loved all things yahoo - - they got more information on the us's enemies through *listing* to chatter. He told his Pop, to get rid of all things yahoo - he also doesn't like that we are on fb either. But, he did set up our security on that media.

He has retired from that job and is working as an independent contractor for our guberment in setting up internet communications with the US's allies world wide. He gets better pay, benefits, and the travel expenses are nearly 4X the amount. When he comes to visit in January - he is going to clean up his Pop's computers, and reset the security on all of ours.

So, yeah, yahoo is bad. Avoid it at all costs. All things yahoo. Also hotmail.

I quit using Yahoo for email a very very long time ago. In the beginning, it was okay. But that didn't last very long.
