Earlier in the pandemic, maybe in late spring, I mused that if a foreign enemy or any terrorist wanted to catch our country with its pants down, that would be an ideal time.

I've changed my mind. Now would be a perfect time. We have a lame duck potus who rejects the rule of law, won't actively govern but either bunkers up or goes golfing, eggs on the extremists of his party, & manipulates Cabinet positions to make the transfer of authority as rough & difficult as possible. What more opportune time for an attack of any kind, whether it be military, environmental, or technological, while the person who is supposed to be governing is essentially absent & refuses to prepare his successor?

Trump is refusing to share national security briefings with the man who will succeed him in just over two months, & the State Dept. is not connecting Biden with messages being sent by foreign leaders. In 2000, with the election results uncertain between Al Gore & George W. Bush, outgoing POTUS Clinton shared the daily briefings with Bush to help him prepare in case he became president. Whether or not we like Clinton, Gore, or Bush is irrelevant. This a case of former rivals of opposing parties cooperating for the good of their country.

I used the phrase “bruised ego” in an earlier post, & I swear I had not yet read this article that uses the same words! Obviously, every thinking American shares the same idea: Trump has always been shielded from the consequences of his actions & the realities of life, can’t stand to lose or be rejected, & his demolished ego needs to punish everyone & everything within tweeting range. And because he lacks self-discipline or any morals or ethics beyond what will serve him for the moment, he is a dangerous person to have in the White House between now & January 20.

Trump says New York State won’t receive COVID vaccine because he resents the governor’s comments about his (DT’s) vaccine plan.

This is like his delaying emergency wildfire assistance to California because of the quarrel with our state about how we were not raking our forest floors enough. A president OF THE UNITED STATES is not the president for only the states that voted for him/her or whose governors bow down, genuflect, & fall down in full proskynesis when His Majesty’s procession goes by.

And what happens when a Potus has to have mass rallies with people in airport hangars or sports arena, jammed together & yelling “Make America Great Again” & “Four More Years” six inches from each other’s faces with no masks? What happens is that the people who put themselves between the POTUS & any threat are being asked to accept an unacceptable, largely reducible risk. Isn’t it enough to ask these fine people to risk their lives for the president’s, without having his reckless actions put them as risk for a contagious disease?

Curelom, that post is missing some of the key facts. Trump stated that he will send the vaccine to New York once Governor Cuomo authorizes it. Governor Cuomo has publicly stated that he does not trust the federal review process and oversight of the vaccine and will delay implementation of the vaccine until he has his state perform an independent review. So it was governor Cuomo who has stated he will delay vaccinations in his state. Trump has simply agreed to wait until he authorizes it.

Once these other facts are also shared, the narrative changes dramatically.

Narrative driven news seems to be dominating these days. Once Trump is out of office, this will not stop. It will simply shift its focus to others.

Is this not the case that caused the Trump team to disavow Sidney Powell? I may be wrong, but I know that they have distanced themselves from her and said she is not connected to them

I'm in Georgia. Here's what's so nonsense about so much of this - with the past couple years, Georgia switched over to a system that, when someone votes in person, it PRINTS OUT a paper copy receipt, and the poll-worker makes sure the voter notes that the print-out correctly recorded the vote. Only then is the vote recorded.

Georgia did a hand recount, utilizing the paper ballots, not just an electronic tabulation. The existence of a hardcopy ballot to check against the electronic tabulation makes such allegations ridiculous.

So much time given to the conspiracy theory of Georgia machines electronically changing ballots is simply nonsensical, and would be very, very easily discovered.

Also: Kemp is the Trumpiest of the Trump Governors. Suggesting that he of all people was part of a conspiracy to get rid of Trump is absolutely bonkers.

We may not like or agree with everything about Clinton, Bush II, or Obama, but they have been in the most powerful, most influential, loneliest seat in the country, understand what it takes to lead America, & take that solemn responsibility seriously.
