Let me add that continuing education does not always mean sitting behind a desk in a classroom.  I read and research scriptural knowledge through the wonders of cyberspace every day. Once in a while I follow graduate courese in theology studies online for free. I ahve a lovely student wife teaching me Chinese every tuesday afternoon for two hours. i am also following and online Polish course. I do not need a doctorate in this life, but that does not mean I have stopped learning something new every day. The stuff available for nothing on the internet is just a miracle to me.
+1, JanaLynn.  If my courses weren't paid for, I would likely have a very different approach.

If, after you get your degree, you can't use it in quite the way you want, would you please consider going into politics?  At the moment, teachers have to jump through so many hoops (and put their students through hoops) that have absolutely nothing to do with actual education.  It would be nice to have someone in the legislature that actually knows what he's talking about. :)

In fact, let's suggest Roper as a replacement for U.S. Secretary of Education.

Well, thank you for your kind words.  I would love to be in a position to make education legislation. However, I don't want to go through the process to get there.
