I downloaded it this morning.  I will do my best to read it soon-ish.  So many things have taken over the time I used to devote to reading.  It's not the genre I would normally choose, but the blurb sounds very interesting.

I just realized why my Amazon didn't have a free download....It was not yet 22 September in wherever the download initiates.  I will try again today which is the 23rd in my world...

I got it as soon as it appeared, but thanks for letting me know. I started another book whilst I was waiting - I will start this as soon as I finish that one.

Should anyone be interested a member of my stake has written a book that revolves around secret combinations. I have not read it yet as I only found out from another member on Sunday. He is a former stake presidency counsellor and current mission presidency counsellor. I had no idea he was writing a book.

Palmetto-gal, Jana and Andrew! Thank you for your support. I am sorry that I have taken so long to respond- we went to a son's wedding in St Lucia and then on a cruise.

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed it!
Andrew, I downloaded the book but I also am a slow reader, these days, I am easily distracted.

Palmon, I saw your Facebook pictures from the cruise.  That sunburn looked treacherous!  Are you okay now?

I am finally recovered. There was one area that I didn't think would ever heal. I have endured many lectures (apparently needed) about sun screen by my sons since. I really was foolish and it was just hours before the wedding!  Thank you for asking!

I just wanted to say that I am nearly at the end of "The Queen's Vow". Every bit as good a read as the first book. Great character development, and introduction of the new ones.

Spoiler for Hiden:
I have to confess to a tear and a lump in my throat when the Sapphire died. Beautifully written.

Any ideas on when the next book will be written/available?

OK - I finished it. What a great book, and ending. Enough of a cliff hanger to make me want the next book now, but not too much that I am waiting on vital answers or information.

A really good read. Amazon review done.

Your reviews were amazing! Thank you! And I agree with your hidden comment - me, too.

I love that new feature!
As for your question about book three: I am pretty sure it is finished - I'll be sure to let you know when it is up!

Is the Star Scout Sage also by your husband, or another author with the same name?

It was the first book and series that he wrote. After Kindle-publishing the If a Dragon Cries and The Queen's Vow, I think he became much more confident about publishing them, too.

Oh. And he is really finished with book three now.  It is off to the editor and the cover illustrator.

Andrew, I sent you an email.  Just a comment on my last post "really finished' when talking about books is relative - until it is actually published, things are open to be changed!
