Here's an update from Tess about Brittany's condition:

Quote
I was looking through my pictures and saw this one of Brittany and me when she was about 15 or 16. This is before she was really sick and hardly ever had to go to the hospital.

Her breathing trial went well yesterday but her lungs are still too weak to come off the ventilator. She is getting stronger little bit by little bit. She is constantly asking for something so I know she is very uncomfortable. We have developed sign language to understand what she wants.

Thank y’all again for all the prayers and support. Please continue to remember her in your prayers. She needs continued healing and comfort.

Can I ask you to pray for another girl with CF in the ICU? Her name is Hannah Garten . Carl went to school with her mom. I feel bad because she is worse than Brittany and her family and friends all live in Easley. That’s got to be so hard and I know how blessed we are to live here and have our church family to do so much. Counting my blessings. Love y’all so much.

Crow mama is still in need of prayers. Crowgirl is hanging on to hope but dementia is a cruel unpredictable beast and infections just make it complicated.

My darling Jane who thinks the world and all of our mighty prayer circle is asking for help. Carol Jean Noe is hovering at death's door.  Jane is asking us to pray for her. And maybe put her name in the temple if you would.
Thanks

My uncle is still in need of prayers.

He's now off dialysis - hallelujah! The doctors found and removed an abscess in his hip, and it's healed - hallelujah! The nine stents are working as planned - hallelujah!

But he has intense pain in his back/abdomen that prevents him from sitting up, standing, or walking. The doctors have decided that he's being ornery and lazy and have given up on finding out what's going on. They want him out of the hospital no matter what. And they and the nurses are apparently getting hostile towards him.

I'm concerned. A very real medical problem is being ignored because of their egos and he's not getting the care that he should.

My aunt and a friend of hers will be going to the hospital on Friday to advocate for him - she has POA. My aunt and uncle need answers and they need the doctors to pay attention and to listen.

They need prayers.

Progress! My uncle has something wrong with a nerve. That's pretty much all I know, but at least now there's evidence that he's not faking it. Hopefully, a treatment plan will form and be put into motion.

Why they couldn't bother to look at this months ago, I do not know. But I am grateful that this is being figured out now. Please continue with the prayers, and thanks for all the prayers you've said already.

Oh no! The same thing happened with one of my family members. The hospital was so depressing that it just made it worse. And they wouldn't let her leave to care for her new baby. That really sent her spiraling down. I ended up taking legal action to get her out. I hope KQ has a better experience and will get the help she needs.

The baby is boarding with her. Her dad is a doc. He is with her. They are exercising an abundance of caution, but Anne sounds chipper.

Thank Heavens! I've had two experiences with the psych floors of hospitals--a family member and a close friend. Both were horrible. They treated the patients like prisoners--took away all their belongings and their autonomy. I'm glad things are going better for our KetchupQueen. She'll be in my prayers.

WAIT!!  she is under observation for a wonky blood pressure and other post partum health issues!
Not on a psych floor.sorry for leading astray.
It is still not time for release but otherwise she is chipper.

Thanks, JanaLynn. You didn't lead me astray. I went there on my own  ::)  You said "In the hospital...post partum...under observation" and I made the connection to what I've seen before. So glad that's not the case with her. Thanks for the clarification.
