As we speak, I'm about halfway through "Kiss the Girls"  her 2019 book.

I somehow missed this news.  CrowMother loves her books.  While she was in the hospital and recovery facility, I read several of her books to her.  Her writing was perfect for the situation; she repeats herself often so picking up after putting it down for a bit is helpful for the reader, and readee.

Country singer, sometime actor and roasted chicken restauranteur Kenny Rogers has passed on.

My father loved him, so the rest of us did, too.  He would spontaneously break into, “You picked a fine time to leave me, Lucille!” and leave it at that.  The radio played “You Decorated My Life” one year whilst decorating the Christmas tree, and it has stuck in my brain ever since.  He used to be all over the radio, then disappeared for the small screen.  I would have liked him to stay longer.

I ate at one of his restaurants once.  I would have been all right going back.

He was 81.  How is that possible?

Kenny Rogers was one of my favorites. He's been missed. It was a blessing he passed peacefully.

Maybe only people of a certain age will remember them, but 70s vocalists Helen Reddy & Mac Davis passed yesterday.

I enjoyed both of their music. I am thankful for albums, CD's, tapes, etc. May they both rest in peace and enjoy their reunions with their kindred dead.

Never was a Mac Davis fan. But my sister and I sang along with Helen Reddy on "Pete's Dragon" until we wore the tape out. I still have every word of "Candle on the Water" memorized.

Eddie Van Halen, the guitarist who didn't read music but who shaped electric guitar music throughout the world, has died of lung cancer. He was 65. Let's hope he's not runnin' with the devil  ;)
