Card Making
« on: January 05, 2021, 10:29:58 pm »
My wife, Michelle, makes greeting cards. We received a Christmas card from the Netherlands (thanks Jana!) As soon as Michelle saw the card she said, "Oooh. That's really good. Do you know how long it takes to cut out all those little pieces and position them?" Sam was reading over my shoulder and said, "I miss Oma!" So, You have a card making colleague from across the pond, Jana!

Thanks Roper.
When Mother died I was just designing a line of cards for her.  Handmade cards was about the only thing I could gift her that did not displease her somehow.  But her death blew out the flame of inspiration.
When the plague began I wanted to serve, but my family put up a wall to keep mama safe and well so card making became the only way I could think of to reach out to people.
I had to massively twist arms to get addresses from my unit.  But I persisted.
Because we cannot travel I was  in lockdown at home most of this year. So I had time to do Christmas cards as well.  It looks like it will be well after Easter before we get jabbed here, so card making continues.
I thought I would be stopping when supplies ran out in my storage but I am buying new.  That was not really the plan....
At any rate I am glad that people like to get mail. And I rediscivered a skill I enjoy.
I will take any silver lining to the cloud of virus.  It is so bad here.

Thank you.   I don't know how many hours it takes you to do them.  But they are hours well spent, for sure.  The photos make me smile.

Thank you, dear Jana, for the beautiful Easter Card. Sam was especially thankful for his extra "High Five" from Oma.
