New Hampshire must have a very low incidence of highway accidents or other serious emergencies, so the state police are able to take the time to look for owner of this "lost lamb."  :)

But lost lambs are the job of all good people.

A recent tragedy in southern Utah brought out some less quantifiable responses from the community – and not just the immediate community. From a little 15-bed hospital to teachers & kids up to 300 miles away, good people stepped up to comfort those who stand in need of comforting while in distress thousands of miles from home.

Thee are times when trying to be decent human beings feels like shoveling YKW against the tide with a teaspoon. But yes, there are regular people doing good things for other people & other living beings.  :)  We just have to turn past the pages of political news to find them.  ;)

Here is another feel-good critter tale. This pooch lost 25 pounds, & now look at her. And she isn't a gigantic St. Bernard or Great Dane.  :)

Should this be in the feel-good thread, or the weird news thread? Maybe both!

You have to see this! Look at the videos from different angles. It's really astounding.

Not having gone to BYU, I had to look up Cosmo to find out more, & it's a pretty amazing story for others who may not have known about this big cat. I saw videos of Cosmo doing a hip-hop number, roller-skating up the court for a dunk, & more.

The coronavirus epidemic continues in China, with millions of people's lives & livelihoods up-ended for a time period that maybe no one can predict. Early on, we heard stories of people panicking & throwing their pets out of buildings because of fears that dogs or cats could spread the virus. That just made the tragedy seem more upsetting, the thought that a crisis brings out the worst side of all of us. I hoped out loud that none of those people had an elderly grandparent or a baby who might start showing symptoms.

Now stories are coming out of stranded pets whose owners left in a hurry not realizing how long they would be gone. Not all pet owners tossed their four-footed family member off the 40th story balcony, & some are using the services of volunteers to find & care for the pets. Several videos about this are floating around, but this one is especially interesting because it shows the kind of city Wuhan is. It has 11,000,000 people, more than New York. On a normal day it would probably resemble New York, but the quarantine has turned it into a ghost town. Frankly, I think it looks like a depressing place to live, but I suppose it's home sweet home to folks who have never been anywhere else. Anyway, here is a story of a Good Samaritan who is saving the pets.

Another Good Samaritan story, of how a vulnerable, perhaps naïve, too trusting senior could have been shafted very badly but wasn’t.
