More good-guys-to-the-rescue news. They didn't really HAVE to do this, but one young person who has to budget for textbooks is happy.

More good guys to the rescue. Massachusetts state police close a highway to be sure a bear family can safely be moved. :)

ETA another good deed for our furry pals.

Congrats to this outstanding student, whose folks didn't have heaps of money to pay off any professional test takers or college admissions officials, & didn't need to.

A rescued critter is safe, thanks to out-of-the-box thinking by an animal shelter worker. :)

This is not really a feel-good story, but there are some ďgoodĒ things about it. Allís well that ends well, no one died or was seriously ill, but that could have happened. & this little kid is a hero who may have saved several lives.

This is more of a feel-good. Guide Dogs & other service animals have to know how to work in all kinds of environments with tons of people, activity, noise, odors, etc. Imagine being a blind person at OíHare, with everything going on in your face but you canít see it, & how disconcerting that might be. See a herd of Guide Dogs in training learn how to help their people get around an airport.

Don't you love it when animals emerge safe & healthy? :)  I'm glad these critters didn't get sealed into a high-rise building forever. :(

#safecat (continued)

Two very lucky cats in the Bay Area & one in Oregon are doing much better, thank you, after being rescued by people who just happened to pass by at the right moment. Each of them resembles one of the Nauvoo Cabin critters.

Itís graduation season, & I foresee great things for these young people who donít plan on forgetting where they came from, & as far as Iíve read, didnít have anyone pay to take their exams or fabricate their applications.

These two identical twin brothers are at the top of their class (call them Val & Sal), & they plan to continue their education with the help of full scholarships (academic, not athletic), then return home to help rehabilitate their Rust Belt city.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/good-news/identical-ohio-twins-are-valedictorian-salutatorian-of-their-high-school-class/ar-AABWidg?ocid=spartandhp

And here is a young lady with multiple obstacles: child of immigrants, worked in the fields with her parents, had a baby at 15 with a guy who turned out to be a crumb, dropped out, was told by her mother to get her butt back to school or look forward to life as a farm worker, & took longer than usual because her son has cerebral palsy.  Now she plans to work with kids who remind her of her younger self.

I donít think we need to worry about these three young people (I'd call them "kids" because of their age, but they are more grown-up than many adults). Hats off :)

ETA another student had to claw his way back, another one who wants to help kids live better lives. Congrats to all of these fine young people, who get it that life isn't all about money and fame. :)

Another critter in distress gets help from two-footers. Hats off to SFPD & Marine Mammal Center :)

If this were a dog or cat, with a face like that, people would be clamoring to adopt it!  ;D
