Jana has Boy completely severed his membership to the Church? Does he still have his Aaronic Priesthood and is he still worthy? No alcohol, smoking, drugs, etc.? Then he should be able to bless and pass the Sacrament to you.

You and Himself drive to Boys the first of the month and Boy blesses and passes and you partake. He should also be able to give you a blessing.

My best friends son, who is 18, who has the Aaronic Priesthood and is the ONLY priesthood in her family, does this. When he has to work on a Sunday - they do this on Saturday night.

Aaronic Priesthood sacrament administration:

Bishop: Authorization for administration of sacrament
Priest: Bless, prepare, pass
Teacher: Prepare, pass
Deacon: Pass

Melchizedek Priesthood (Elder or High Priest) is required for administering to the sick, father's blessings, and blessings of comfort.
All grown-ups were once children...but only few of them remember it. ― Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, "The Little Prince."

Iggy, Boy has not removed his name only because I asked him to wait til I die.  He will attend on Christmas or if I need a driver, but alas he does us alcohol now and drinks coffee..
With his recent decent into despair, I have a tiny hope he might be open to prayer.  We are just starting interventions.  Now is not a good time for him.
No bishop would authorize him to administer.  with all the ward closures in country, I do not know what ward of stake he falls under.
But thanks for thinking of a way to help.

When I read your post, I wondered the same thing.   Maybe he is willing to live the standards for a while so he can bless you with the sacrament.  (And maybe there is a bishop who will allow him to administer the sacrament for his mother under these circumstances.) (I've always found service to others, inspiring music (not necessarily hymns and being in nature help me get through hard experiences and mental health struggles).   I'll be praying for you all.

Jana, I understand some of what you are going through. It is so hard and heartbreaking when we see our children struggling, hurting and lost and not having the power to make everything alright.

Years ago I read this in a story in Guidepost and I try to remember when I get to those fearful places:
Your son is also God’s son and He loves him more than even his mother can, more than we can ever imagine. Your son is in God’s hands.

I know it seems obvious, but it helps me to remind myself of that truth.
And sometimes I think it is appropriate to call on His angels for help.

Thanks everyone.  I talked Boy into vitamin D.  And to register with his local GP.  For the rest,  we must be patient.  Changing his mind, his attitude and his heart will be one tiny tiny chisel piece from a piece of granite process.
You all are stars.
