Time and self reliance
« on: June 21, 2020, 12:06:41 pm »
After the few first weeks of covid -19 we've had the ward adults meeting in zoom after the Stake provided Sunday service. Every other week we have Sunday School, every  other week the sef reliance class. Next Sunday it is my  turn to lead discussion and the topic is (chapter 5) "Use time wisely".

Well, I know probably why I got this one right now since I have been doing a lot of relaxing lately. It is needed of course, but maybe I've overdone it a bit.  ;D

I already have a plan of what/how I'm going to do it, but to get broader ideas, here's a few questions if someone feels like discussing the topic:

1. How is using time wisely related to self reliance?
2. What helps you to use time wisely?
3. What helps you to support others in the family using time wisely (when you can't be sure what kind of answers they have received when prayed about the matter --- meaning when you can't really know for sure for other people what is the wise use of time)?
4.How do you know you are not using time wisely?

My answer as a younger person would have assumed it meant always being busy, action, exercise.

Now I know that self-care (reading/daydreaming for me) is every bit as important as having clean house/working longer hours to prove one's value at work, and relationships will always be more important than that clean house/anything at work.

If you've watched someone knit while they listen to someone talk, you'll recognize that sometimes doing two things at the same time, frees one up to be available for something else.

When you're a kid using time wisely often means finishing the stuff that you find most difficult first (to incentive not stringing it out and quitting before it gets done).

Maybe using one's time wisely just means not wallowing in regrets, change up what you're doing as soon as you need it done,  doing something right/wholeheartedly/having read the directions/etc. the first time.
